Why most clients prefer GROOVED wpc decking?

In recent decades years, outdoor paving projects introduces more and more decking made of WPC material. Have you noticed this phenomenon?

WPC decking can be divided into both-side flat / flat+grooved / both-side grooved
three types.

Most clients prefer grooved decking instead of both-side flat one,and the reason is easy-understanding!
              
Firstly, grooved surface has higher coefficient of friction, thus the decking
will be more anti-slip! This is a realistic factor for users to consider.

Secondly,WPC is extrusion result of wood and plastic recycled material, thus
it's comparatively heavier than raw wood. Making grooves on the decking surface can reduce the weight of the board.

Besides, there may be additional reason beyond these two--- the apperance.
Grooved decking surface may look more elegant than flat wood although flat wood
can be embossed with several floral designs.

While for long term consideration, embossed designs can't stay lifelong and will
fade with time passing and walkers' steps.
